Eaton Estate

Project:

Eaton Estate, Chester

Client:

Duke of Westminster

Information:

The practice has been involved with the Duke of Westminster’s Eaton estate near Chester since 1985. Initially, Chris Burnett was part of a team of consultants who prepared a Conservation Plan for the 4,300 ha estate. Retained to implement the recommendations of the plan CBA ‘s involvement became more intensive and involved carrying out practical measures for the improvement of the estate landscape and its tenant farms. The practice was then subsequently commissioned in 1998 to prepare designs for a new deer park surrounding Eaton Hall, a project which is now complete, and which involved removing an operational 18 hole golf course and club house. More recently CBA prepared a landscape restoration plan for a redundant WWII airfield on the estate.
